If you ever get a chance to visit this park, I highly recommend making the trip. The main road runs about 30 miles straight through the park and the trip is quite scenic. Growing up in the mid-west, the stunning southwest vistas are quite impressive. Not only is there the petrified trees to see, but the various multi-colored hills and strange landscapes made this day-trip worth while. The storms going though the region made for some exciting photos. These clouds brought only flourishes in the sky as the precipitation evaporated before hitting the ground.
